About me

Shira Laucharoen is a journalist and musician currently based in Boston. Originally from New York City, she grew up in lower Manhattan. She has worked as audience engagement editor for Boston Art Review and reported for Boston.com and the Boston Institute for Nonprofit Journalism. She has written stories for Boston Magazine, WBUR’s the ARTery, Dig Boston, and Sampan newspaper. Shira often writes about Boston’s dining scene, the arts, and social justice issues. In 2021, she received a grant through the National Press Foundation to write about environmental justice in the city of Somerville.
